Roughly 13,000 usernames and passwords – as well as credit card numbers, expiration dates and video game registration codes – were reportedly leaked on the day after Christmas by a hacker group referring to itself as ‘Anonymous.'
“We did for the Lulz,” the group tweeted out on Friday, indicating in a separate tweet that account information was stolen from Amazon, Walmart, Hulu Plus, and Dell, as well as video game networks and adult websites.
The document containing the data, which was hosted on file-sharing website Ghostbin, was taken down on Saturday, according to the New York Daily News. Citing discussions on Reddit, the Sunday report indicates that the information may have been stolen in an older breach.
Amazon denied being targeted in an attack, according to the report.
