After PCI DSS issues, LifeLock removes Wall mobile app

ID theft protection service LifeLock has run into some issues regarding the payment card industry's Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) forcing it to remove its Wallet app from various app marketplaces.

In a letter to customers to ensure them that this was not related to a data breach, company chairman and CEO Todd Davis announced the app's removal from the App Store, Amazon Apps, and Google Play because certain “aspects of the mobile app” were not PCI DSS compliant.

The company has taken steps to remove any sensitive data stored on the app, and will be working on a new version of the Wallet app that will be produced with “the highest level of PCI compliance to users.”

While it may raise concern for customers, Davis assured them that it will have no impact on the company's services.
