Alleged ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware attack against Tipalti probed

BleepingComputer reports that accounting software provider Tipalti has confirmed launching an investigation into an alleged ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware attack against its network, which was claimed to result in the compromise of over 265 GB of confidential data from the firm and its customers, including Twitch and Roblox. Roblox has already joined Tipalti in investigating ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware gang's claims, according to a Roblox spokesperson, who noted that there has been no evidence so far suggesting any impact on the online gaming platform's systems. ALPHV/BlackCat disclosed in a now-deleted post on its data leak site that it has infiltrated the network of Tipalti since early September, with Roblox and Twitch to be extorted separately. "We remain committed to this exfiltration operation, so we plan to reach out to both these companies once the market opens on Monday as we believe we will have an even greater amount of data by then," noted ALPHV/BlackCat, which has since stated that all Tipalti clients will be extorted individually.
