Amazon Web Services has announced that its AWS Marketplace will offer select managed security service providers that have been validated against its new AWS Level 1 MSSP Competency, which sets a new baseline standard for managed security services that offer security for essential AWS resources and are provided as a fully managed service, according to CRN.
The competency includes 10 security service areas established by AWS security experts, said AWS' head of worldwide channels and alliances Doug Yeum, including AWS infrastructure vulnerability scanning, AWS security best practices monitoring, AWS resource inventory visibility, monitoring and triaging of security events, AWS compliance monitoring, 24/7 incident alerting and response, managed intrusion prevention measures, distributed denial of service mitigation, managed web application firewall service and managed detection and response for AWS-based endpoints.
The competency is scheduled to launch Tuesday during the company's AWS re:Inforce 2021 conference and with 17 partners and sellers that have already been validated under the new competency.
