Funding for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is set to be reduced by a total of $707 million in President Donald Trumps proposed budget for fiscal year 2027, according to CyberScoop.

A reduction of $361 million is proposed in another budget document, representing a lower, but still substantial cut. The discrepancy may come from differing comparison points within the Department of Homeland Security's uncertain budget.

"At the time the Budget was prepared, the 2026 appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security was not enacted, and funding provided by the last continuing resolution it had been operating under (Continuing Appropriations Act, 2026, division A of Public Law 119-37, as amended by division H of Public Law 119-75) had lapsed," reads the budget summary.

Trump's plan would see CISA receive slightly more than $2 billion in discretionary funds, according to the budget appendix. Appropriators tried to lessen some of Trump's planned CISA cuts for fiscal 2026.

"The Budget refocuses CISA on its core mission Federal network defense and enhancing the security and resilience of critical infrastructure while eliminating weaponization and waste," according to the summary in the 2026 and 2027 documents.
