Barracuda Network has announced its acquisition of Skout Cybersecurity, a cyber-as-a-service startup that provides extended detection and response solutions -- which enable collection and correlation of data from multiple security layers to enhance threat detection, for undisclosed terms, according to TechCrunch. The deal is slated to conclude later in July.
XDR services are considered a top priority among 80% of security professionals amid the ongoing organizational shift to the cloud and hybrid work, which has led to a widening of attack surfaces, according to a recent study.
Barracuda says its integration of Skout's XDR solutions will provide managed service providers with access to real-time security monitoring capabilities and thus enhance their threat management operations.
"The addition of Skout enables Barracuda's MSP partners to deploy security solutions across their environments, connecting their data feeds into a unified, 24×7 operation for swift analysis and response," according to Barracuda MSP Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Babineau.
