IBM has launched IBM Security Services for SASE, a new service developed in partnership with cybersecurity firm Zscaler that leverages zero-trust security measures in the enterprise environment, ZDNet reports.

The solution includes IBM's zero-trust strategy protocols, SASE blueprints, an updated network architecture and Zscaler capabilities, as well as support for IBM Managed Security Services and the ability to create policies and processes for SASE management.

The company says the new Secure Access Service Edge solution was "designed to help accelerate organizations' adoption of cloud-delivered security at the edge, closer to the users and devices that access corporate resources."

"Traditional approaches to network security are no longer viable in a digital world where users and applications are distributed," said IBM Security General Manager Mary O'Brien.

The solution supports the new hybrid workforce model as well as third-party access systems and network upgrades in support of the cloud, 5G and Internet of Things devices, according to the company.
