Some of Canadian diversified software firm Constellation Software's systems were confirmed to have been compromised in an attack, which has been claimed by the ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware operation, BleepingComputer reports. Attackers have targeted a small number of Constellation's systems involved in internal financial reporting and the storage of related data from the company's operating groups and businesses, facilitating the theft of limited personal and business information, according to Constellation, which emphasized that the incident has not impacted its operating groups' and businesses' independent IT systems and the all affected systems have already been restored. No information regarding the attackers has been given by Constellation but the ALPHV ransomware attack updated its data leak site to announce the theft of over 1TB of files from Constellation's network. Some Constellation data with business data have already been leaked by ALPHV, which has threatened to expose all stolen data should the company refuse negotiations.
