Cybersecurity lapses in SMBs examined

Cybersecurity practices at small and medium-sized businesses continued to be dismal, with only 38% of employees and managers noting more frequent password manager usage, while only 37% and 36% conducted more cybersecurity training sessions and executed new security policies, respectively, reports TechRadar. Sixty-five percent of business leaders noted increased password manager utilization but only 25% of employees confirmed the same, and 31% of leaders noted the adoption of new policies, which was confirmed by 43% of employees, according to a report from Dashlane. However, password manager adoption showed the biggest increase amid the shift to remote work. "Our research shows awareness of cybersecurity threats among leaders has increased substantially, but organizations need help and education to make the right decisions when it comes to security. We're seeing awareness increase in a world that has employees going remote, but this awareness isn't really being put into action," said Dashlane CEO JD Sherman.
