Per Bleeping Computer, Ericsson Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the Swedish telecommunications giant, has confirmed a data breach affecting an undisclosed number of employees and customers. The incident occurred after attackers gained access to data stored by one of Ericsson's service providers.

The breach was discovered by the service provider on April 28, 2025, who subsequently notified the FBI and engaged cybersecurity experts. An investigation revealed that unauthorized access to files occurred between April 17 and April 22, 2025. While the full extent of compromised data is still being determined, filings with the California Attorney General indicate that sensitive personal information, including names, addresses, Social Security Numbers, driver's license numbers, financial details, medical information, and dates of birth, may have been exposed.

In Texas alone, 4,377 individuals were impacted. Ericsson is offering free identity protection services to those affected.
