The FBI is looking for candidates to fill its brand-new position of senior-level data scientist, a role that requires specialization in big-data analytics and whose responsibilities include serving as a top advisor and consultant to senior FBI management, including Cyber Division executives.
The agency is appealing to the public and private sectors for prospective applicants. “The addition of a senior-level position within the Cyber Division is unprecedented, and we are eagerly anticipating the ways it will contribute to our mission to identify, pursue, and defeat cyber adversaries,” said James C. Trainor, Jr., assistant director of the FBI's Cyber Division, in a press release.
The FBI's official application states that candidates must possess subject-matter expertise in cybersecurity and data analytics and will be expected, among other duties, to provide planning and engineering services for technology solutions, standards and procedures, as well as explore new technology solutions and assist in attack analysis.
