The Register reports that Intuitive, a company specializing in robotics-assisted surgical technology, has experienced a cybersecurity incident where unauthorized intruders accessed internal IT business applications. This breach occurred after an employee's credentials were compromised through a phishing attack. The exact timeline of the attack and its discovery remains unclear. Stolen data includes customer business and contact information, as well as employee and corporate data. However, Intuitive stated that the intrusion had no impact on its surgical platforms, including the da Vinci surgical systems and Ion endoluminal system, or on the hospitals utilizing these robotic systems. The company emphasized that its operational systems, manufacturing, and digital products are on separate networks and were unaffected. This incident follows a recent cyberattack on medical-tech firm Stryker, though the motivation behind that attack is believed to be different.Source: The Register
