Authorities in London arrested a 16-year-old boy who was allegedly involved in the March 19 distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks aimed at Spamhaus, a Dutch anti-spam group and international nonprofit.
According to the London Evening Standard, the arrest was “secretly” made by the National Cyber Crime Unit and was part of an international investigation.
The authorities detained the teenager in April, but details were kept confidential before being released to the Evening Standard this week. His identity has not been revealed.
Others arrested in connection with the attack – which made headlines by growing to 300 gigabytes per second of traffic being sent by attackers – include a 35-year-old Dutch man who was living in Spain at the time.
