The creators of Wurm Online – a massively multiplayer online role-playing game – are offering 10,000 Euro for information leading to a conviction of the party responsible for carrying out a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack against the game's hosting provider.
“Shortly after todays update we were the target of a DDOS attack and our hosting provider had to pull us off the grid for now,” Rolf Jansson, a Wurm designer, wrote in a Tuesday post. “We will be back as soon as possible but things are out of our hands since their other customers are affected.”
Although Jansson wrote that Wurm is expected to be back online by Wednesday, he explained that the developers were already planning to change hosts anyway, which he said should improve the game.
