New research suggests that users should stop using complex passwords for every online account they have, and instead, save complicated passwords for sites requiring extra security.
Microsoft researchers concluded from their new study that users should reuse weak passwords for websites that don't hold important information so they can better recall their secure passwords for other sites, such as online bank accounts.
The researchers argued that remembering passwords can prove a taxing and difficult task for many users and suggests that instead they dedicate their memory and efforts to sites that need serious protection.
They also advise against password managers, saying that trusting one master password could lead to a loss of information on multiple important accounts.
