MOVEit hack impacts Sony Interactive Entertainment Japanese multinational conglomerate Sony's video game firm Sony Interactive Entertainment had data from 6,791 individuals across the U.S., including current and former employees and their families, compromised following the widespread MOVEit hack conducted by the Cl0p ransomware operation, according to BleepingComputer. Such a disclosure, which comes after Sony Group was included in Cl0p ransomware's victim list in late June, noted that the compromise was identified in early June, or days after Sony was informed regarding the MOVEit vulnerability by Progress Software. No other systems were affected by the incident, said Sony. Sony announced late last month that it has launched a probe into claims made by two different threat actors alleging the theft of 3.14 GB of data from its systems. Discovery of unauthorized activity on a Japan-based internal testing server of the company's Entertainment, Technology and Services business has prompted its immediate takedown, noted Sony, which added there has been no evidence suggesting any compromise of customer or business partner data.
