State Bar of Georgia disrupted by cyberattack

The State Bar of Georgia had its network, email system, and website disrupted by a cyberattack that began early this week, reports The Record, a news site by cybersecurity firm Recorded Future. Malicious actors have attacked the State Bar since Monday, according to officials, who noted that they promptly enlisted the assistance of a third-party cybersecurity firm while launching a network-wide endpoint detection and response system. However, it remains uncertain whether the attack has compromised any member data. “Upon learning of the unauthorized access, we immediately took steps to secure the network, a cybersecurity firm was engaged and a thorough investigation is being conducted. We are still investigating the incident and have not determined what information, if any, the unauthorized actor may have accessed," said State Bar Communications Director Jennifer Mason, who added that updates regarding the incident will be posted on the State Bar's website. The attack on Georgia's State Bar comes after the state's court system was impacted by a ransomware attack three years ago.
