Nuisance worm targets WhatsApp users

A worm capable of changing a victim's phone contact names to “Priyanka” is spreading via instant messaging application WhatsApp.

The worm infects those who have installed a contact file (also called Priyanka) that appears to come from a friend on WhatsApp, according to a Saturday blog post at Android news and fan site The Android Soul.

The worm is not currently widespread and can be removed by deleting “Priyanka” from one's contacts and clearing one's database. Steps are provided here.
