As Google, Facebook and other companies were scrambling to patch their websites to guard against potential ill effects of the Heartbleed Bug last week, a number of online poker sites were slow make fix and a survey of the sites showed that they had other security issues as well, according to PokerNewsReport.
Using Qualys SSL Lab Test, PokerNewsReport checked out dozens of poker sites and found that Skrill.com and the VPN service, HideMyAss.com were vulnerable to the bug, though they have since patched the problem.
Other security issues uncovered included obsolete SSL/TLS security protocols that left them vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks, the report said.
Although the sites may have already issued patches for Heartbleed, PokerNewsReport has advised online poker players to check the sites they frequent for security issues and to change their passwords.
