It seems threats of prosecution and lawsuits haven't deterred "the collector," who apparently released another round of celebrity “unveilings” on Reddit, 4chan and other sites over the weekend, according to a Sophos Naked Security bulletin. This time, though, the sites reacted swiftly in dealing with photos of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens and others.
Since 4chan had changed its policy—saying it would comply with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA)—and Reddit had recommitted to its own existing, stringent anti-doxing policy in the wake of the first publication of celeb nude photos, this latest round of stolen photos was taken down before they could take the same viral path. The leaked photos were originally believed to be a result of vulnerabilities in Apple's iCloud, but Apple said instead its findings showed that "certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions."
