Sun deal not OK’d yet

Oracle's proposed acquisition of Sun Microsystems has been approved by the U.S. Department of Justice, the database giant announced last week, but for the deal to pass, it still must win the approval of the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union (EU). The commission plans to hold an antitrust review on Sept. 3 to decide whether the deal violates any EU regulations. — CAM
