Thales refutes ransomware attack following LockBit data leak

SecurityWeek reports that French aerospace, security, and defense company Thales denied having its systems hacked but confirmed that data has been stolen from a user account of a partner on a collaboration portal following the LockBit ransomware gang's leak of a 9.5GB archive file claimed to have Thales data. Corporate and technical files are believed to be included in the leaked files, with LockBit claiming that commercial documents, customer files, accounting files, and software from Thales have been stolen. Moreover, a separate report from French publication LeMonde noted that information pertaining to Thales contracts and the company's Italian and Malaysian partnerships were part of the leaks. "Thales reiterates that, as of now, there is no impact on the Groups operations. Thales is working closely with its partner and is providing all of the necessary technical support and resources to minimize any potential impact to concerned customers and stakeholders," said Thales.
