Trump Hotel Collection investigating potential payment card breach

Luxury hospitality company Trump Hotel Collection is investigating a potential payment card breach, Eric Trump, executive vice president of development and acquisitions for The Trump Organization, said in a statement emailed to SCMagazine.com on Wednesday.

“Like virtually every other company these days, we have been alerted to potential suspicious credit card activity and are in the midst of a thorough investigation to determine whether it involves any of our properties,” Trump said. “We are committed to safeguarding all guests' personal information and will continue to do so vigilantly.”

Citing sources in the financial industry, technology journalist Brian Krebs reported on Wednesday about a pattern of fraudulent charges on credit and debit cards used at Trump properties, including in Chicago, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. Krebs wrote that the incident appears to date back to February.
