Adobe is set to release an update for both its Reader and Acrobat software this coming Tuesday as part of its scheduled security updates.
In a Prenotification Security Advisory the company announced that Windows and Macintosh users of both Reader and Acrobat should prepare to update the products.
The flaws being addressed impact Adobe Reader XI (11.0.09) and earlier versions, Reader X (10.1.12) and earlier versions, Adobe Acrobat XI (11.0.09) and earlier versions, and Acrobat X (10.1.12) and previous versions.
A priority rating of “1” has been given to each of the vulnerabilities, which indicates that the bugs may be currently targeted by attackers, or “have a higher risk of being targeted,” according to Adobe's severity ratings.
Once the patches are released, the company advises users to install the updates within 72 hours.
