The U.S. Transportation Command has been gaining ground on integrating zero-trust capabilities into its network, reports CyberScoop.
Zero-trust implementation has already been completed in Transcom's classified network, noted Transcom Commander Gen. Jackie Van Ovost.
"Our work is never done on this front and we will continue to advance this initiative, especially in the unclassified environment," Van Ovost said. Meanwhile, increasingly prevalent cyber threats from Russia and China have prompted Transcom to introduce a command strategy aimed at improving the U.S.'s strategic advantage against both adversaries.
Transcom members have been urged by the document to emphasize individual responsibility in defending against cyber threats. Commercial partners of Transcom have also been called upon by Van Ovost to bolster threat intelligence sharing efforts.
"I know thats maybe a concerning topic, especially when you're competitors in the commercial marketplace. But in the end, our adversaries are really not interested in our competition. They're just interested in ensuring that you cannot mobilize the force and we cannot deploy the force," added Van Ovost.
