NetApp, an innovator in storage and cloud optimization technology, announced the rollout of BlueXP, its new unified control plane for managing storage and data services on on-premises environments as well as private and public cloud, according to CRN.
Ronen Schwartz, senior vice president and general manager of cloud storage at NetApp, says their new offering is the first to permit configuration of storage and data services from on-premises to public and private cloud using only one user interface.
Schwartz says many of todays users are managing an evolved cloud stack, which comprises an on-premises data estate and a cloud-based one.
And it's not a single cloud, but multiple clouds. This gives businesses agility and savings, but its harder to drive efficiency and scale across multiple systems. With BlueXP, they get a single view across all these systems, Schwartz said.
In terms of security, BlueXP provides ransomware protection and data security for all NetApp-focused systems.
With BlueXP, on a single screen they get a single view across all clouds and on-prem to understand the ransomware situation, said Schwartz.
