What happened? Sodexho, the campus food vendor for the Turlock, Calif. university, suffered a data breach. The incident does not appear to be related to hacking but to an opportunist stealing readily available data. Credit card transactions since have been suspended at the college's main dining hall and convenience store, which average 300 to 400 daily card transactions.
Details: Many students, employees and visitors are reporting fraudulent purchases, going back as long as two months ago, although police would not reveal how many victims and what dollar amount.
