KnowBe4 approaches awareness training with immersive, entertaining videos — including a popular training series called The Inside Man — which has resulted in overwhelmingly positive user feedback.
KnowBe4 has a unique approach to delivering security awareness training content. Recognizing that old-school training methods are proving less and less effective, the company designed training that truly engages its users through interactive modules.
The organization also constantly releases different educational materials through its security blogs. For example, CEO Stu Sjouwerman releases a blog post several times a week that helps draw attention to the most relevant, up-and-coming security topics.

On the training front, by sending out a preliminary simulated phishing test that determines the company’s “Phish-Prone percentage (PPP),” or how many users would potentially fall for a real phishing attack, KnowBe4’s customers can learn just how vulnerable their employees are to attacks. Users are then subject to unannounced phishing simulations that can show a decrease in PPP as a way of showing ROI for the organization in the form of avoided phishing attacks.
“Our training program specifically aims to enhance users’ security-related knowledge and build their awareness of security threats,” the company said in its entry. “By doing this, they can make smarter security decisions and possibly avoid detrimental cyberattacks that could severely damage an entire organization with just one wrong click of a button.”
