Giuliani’s website goes down, riddled with security flaws

Just hours after Donald Trump's transition team said former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani would advise the incoming president on cybersecurity issues and build the administrations cybersecurity team, Giuliani Security's website went down.

“Unclear if Trumps cybersecurity pick killed it out of shame or sheer weight of Twitter laughing,” The Jester, a well-known hacker, tweeted.

Security researchers reviewing Giuliani's site found numerous security issues, including the use of a ancient Joomla! version with multiple vulnerabilities such as SQL inject, cross-site scripting (XSS) and remote authentication woes. The website also was using an SSL certificate that had expired and a CMS admin login was exposed, according to tweets from Michael Fienen.
