More than 1,400 medical records compromised in Texas breach

Unauthorized access was gained to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system used by Texas-based Lubbock Cardiology Clinic (LCC), which resulted in the compromise of more than 1,400 medical records.

How many victims? More than 1,400 medical records were impacted. 

What type of personal information? Names, addresses, phone numbers, and Social Security numbers.

What happened? Unauthorized access was gained to the LCC EHR, which contained the medical records.

What was the response? An investigation is ongoing. A notification was posted online. Individuals seeking information on whether they were compromised are being asked to call a phone number.

Details: Unauthorized access was gained from Dec. 15, 2013 to Jan. 30.
