After discovering vulnerabilities in its e-QIP system used to "complete and submit background information forms," the Office of Personnel Management has shut it down "out of an abundance of caution," according to a blog post by OPM Director Katherine Archuleta.
Stressing that the vulnerability had not been exploited by an adversary and that no malicious activity had been detected, Archuleta said the system would remain offline "until stronger security enhancements are implemented."
