System management company turns an eye to patch management

Mobile Automation has released a patch management solution to aid companies in securing the machines outside their office walls.

A systems management company focused on mobile and remote machines, Mobile Automation has developed its Patch Automation product to add to its Mobile Lifecycle Management Suite v. 6.0, said president and CEO Doug Neal, primarily as a result of customer feedback. Patch management, he said, was consistently noted as the main IT problem companies had to deal with on a daily basis.

The technology is different from other solutions currently available on the market because it is based on a single-agent architecture, which is much more flexible and scalable, as well as more easy to use, said Neal. Plus, the solution is automated, allowing for companies to test existing systems, while at the same time staging patch installs to remote machines and local hard disks of target machines to cut deployment of fixes in half.

The Mobile Lifecycle Management Suite, v. 6.0 is available now.
