Skills in demand: Information security analysts – health care

The amount of information stored in our medical records creates a ripe environment for security breaches.  Increasingly, our hospitals, clinics and insurance companies and being targeted with millions of patient's impacted this year alone. An information security analyst in a healthcare environment is responsible for vulnerability assessments, developing and managing information systems security including disaster recovery, network protection and identity access management. This is a subject-matter expert in the intersection of hardware and software with the ability to also manage compliance is a complex and highly regulated industry.

What it takes

In-depth experience with healthcare systems and a strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations. Strong knowledge of overall IT system security including infrastructure, software, applications, audit and compliance. In this role it is also critical to be able to communicate well with the highest levels of the business as well as the technical team with the ability to influence and drive positive change.

Compensation

Base compensation will range from $90K-$120K, often with additional incentives.
