This tool was a quick install and it was simple to configure. The installation is comprised of two parts. The first is to install the server component on the domain controller (DC). The installation adds the appropriate user groups to Active Directory and installs the services for the server. After the server is installed, the client application can be distributed through a group policy software installation, which can be completely automated. Configuration is just as simple. Users are configured by adding them to the appropriate group and setting the user to enroll on the next logon.
This product provides user group templates to accommodate various logon types. Users can be set to authenticate through the use of fingerprint and username, fingerprint only, or fingerprint, username and password. The enrollment process is also intuitive to the user. The first time they logon, they are prompted to go through a quick wizard that gets them enrolled in the system.
Documentation is provided as a few HTML help files. These are simple, but effective.
Bayometric offers free email support to customers, as well as case-by-case paid phone and chat support. Customers can also purchase customization options for the product. The paid support is a monthly fee based on the type of support needed.
At a price of $100 per user license before the hardware, we find this tool to be a good value for the money. While it can become quite expensive for large environments, we find that it provides a solid and seamless integration into the network.
