Cloud-based security products – Group Test

Share

This month we focused on five products in the cloud-based security space that solve a problem almost every organization faces – the ability to have a broad security solution that can span over a multifaceted infrastructure environment whether it’s sitting in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, virtual environments or bare-metal on-premises machines.

Mike Diehl

Some cloud-based security products offer a single pane view into your environment. This means if you have an environment spread across on-premises equipment, AWS and virtual machines, you would get an uninterrupted view of your environment as a whole, which is incredibly useful.

Although SaaS solutions are the trending path of the future for a lot of products, we were surprised to see that in this month’s round-up only two out of the five products offered it. Those that did offer a SaaS solution also had other traditional offerings similar to their competitors, yet customers primarily opted for the SaaS solution over more traditional methods.

Most of this month’s products offered a mix of policy recommendations, automation and enforcement with each product adding its own take into the mix. Among the more unique features outside of the core policy offering are deception technologies, file integrity monitoring, infrastructure workload segmentation engine, proactively quarantining servers when vulnerabilities are detected and software package vulnerability. Each offers a broad spectrum of features and, because of that, customers are likely to find one that suites their environment the best.
