We found this tool to be easy to use, in part because it requires no installation and runs off of the flash drive on which it comes on. One simply plugs in the P2P Marshal and begin. Also, the user interface is easy to use. When running, the program tabs are brought up for every peer-to-peer network on the system with a list of everything downloaded.
The software ran very quickly. Also, it was easy to navigate and almost self-explanatory. When looking through the P2P Marshal, the tabs of each P2P client program popped up instantly.
The tool provides easy-to-use, custom-generated reports. When making a report, the user is given the option of showing the data from every user on the computer or for individual users. This is helpful if one is trying to investigate only a specific user. Other features of the report generator include output shared/downloaded files, output peers, output usage log, output searches, output search results, list installation artifacts, show additional information, include P2P Marshal log, and compute acquisition hashes. From there, one can select the report format and browse the report location.
The P2P Marshal provides one year of support. This fee is included in the service lease. The support fee is equal to 20 percent of the lease fee.
The price is $2,495. For law enforcement, this product is offered at a much cheaper rate of $149.
