We found this product to be quite simple to configure and manage. All administration is done from an intuitive, web-based administration interface. We found it easy to navigate this interface and set up the various features and functions. On the user side, the administrator can set up customized access portals so that users can access their appropriate resources quickly and easily.
This tool can directly integrate into the existing LDAP and Active Directory database so that policies can be configured based on the existing structure. The Succendo also offers flexibility through clientless access options, such as serving the remote desktop through the browser with a Java-based application called UDesk and a file-sharing service called FilePass. This enables administrators to provide granular file access control.
Documentation included a quick-start guide and advanced administrator guide, both in PDF format. The quick-start guide provided a short overview on getting the appliance connected to the network and possible deployment scenarios. The advanced administrator guide featured many detailed configuration instructions, as well as many screen shots and configuration examples, all in a well-organized, easy-to-follow format.
O2Security offers free 24/7 phone technical support for the first 90 days after purchase. After that, customers can purchase additional 24/7 and eight-hours-a-day/five-days-a-week phone and email technical support, as well as access to an online knowledge base.
At a price just shy of $15,000 for the hardware and 100 user license, we find this product to be an average value for the money. While it does have some innovative features, we find that it could be quite pricey for most organizations just looking for an SSL VPN.
