Two men accused of operating a revenge porn website must now pay up for their actions – to the tune of $385,000.
On Tuesday, a federal judge in Ohio ordered Kevin Bollaert and Eric Chason, the creators of ugotposted.com, to pay one of the women whose photos were placed online.
The woman, who was a minor in the posted photos, was awarded $385,000 as a default judgment for child pornography counts, a right of publicity count and punitive damages.
In December, Bollaert, of San Diego, was charged with 31 counts of identity theft, extortion, and conspiracy. In addition to posting sexually explicit photos of victims, he allegedly charged them a fee to have the photos taken down (between $300 and $350).
