Internal emails are just a fraction of the data leaked as a result of the Sony Pictures attack, but the exposed communications have incited one exec to apologize for racially insensitive remarks she made about President Obama.
The leaked emails, between Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman Amy Pascal and movie producer Scott Rudin, were published this week by numerous media outlets. In the correspondence, the two make off-color jokes about films the President might finance, including “Django Unchained,” “12 Years A Slave,” and “Lee Daniels' The Butler.”
The topic reportedly came up, as the two discussed what Pascal might say to Obama at a 2013 fundraising event.
After the email exchange went viral this week, Pascal said in a statement that the “content of my emails to Scott were insensitive and inappropriate, but are not an accurate reflection of who I am.” Rudin also apologized for his remarks.
