The University of Maryland's computer network was breached earlier this week for the second time this year.
The most recent attack affected one university staff member's personal information, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Within 36 hours, university IT security staff began coordinating with the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and university police department to prevent further threats and took some websites offline to move them to a more secure server
In the previous attack, the personal information of at least 300,000 victims was compromised.
The school's new task force on cybersecurity chairwoman, Ann G. Wylie, also detailed procedures that were being implemented to prevent further attacks, which include passwords being changed, IT vulnerabilities being audited and unneeded sensitive data records being deleted.
