What it takes
There are certain “must haves” that include at least five years in IT security, two years of security engineering and a CISSP certification. Should haves include experience working with leading firewall, network scanning and intrusion detection products. As far as college, a BS in either computer science orinformation technology are the ways to go. Additional certifications including; CIH, CSSIP, CCNA, CISA & CISM can help in getting you more money,
Compensation
Compensation for computer forensics investigators range from $98k-$200k depending on it being a SR position or not and level of experience.
